Carex floridana Schweinitz. Common name: Florida Sedge. Phenology: (Feb-) Mar-May. Habitat: Mesic hammocks, dry hammocks, maritime forests. Distribution: S. NJ south to c. peninsular FL, west to TX. See McAvoy (2021) for discussion of the occurrence of this species in NJ, MD, DE, and VA.
