*Carex praegracilis W. Boott. Common name: Freeway Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Medians of interstate highways. Distribution: Native of w. North America south to c. Mexico. This species is apparently spreading through ne. North America as the result of the winter salting of highways.
