Carex caroliniana Schweinitz. Section: [26ii] Section 24 Porocystis. Common name: Carolina Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Floodplain forests, depression swamps, less commonly in mesic to dry-mesic forests. Distribution: NJ, PA, MO, and OK south to SC, e. GA, and TX; apparently disjunct in Panhandle FL and adjacent sw. GA.
