not marked as a favorite taxon Carex tenera Dewey. Common name: Slender Sedge, Quill Sedge. Phenology: May-Jul. Habitat: Low forests, upland forests over hardpans, mesic prairies, wet ditches. Distribution: Nova Scotia west to British Columbia, south to Maryland, West Virginia, s. Ohio, s. Indiana, s. Illinois, South Dakota, n. New Mexico, Idaho, and Washington. Confusion in reporting of past records has obscured the distribution.
