Acrostichum aureum Linnaeus. Common name: Golden Leather Fern. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Mangrove swamps, brackish marshes, rarely inland in freshwater wetlands. Distribution: FL peninsula (Hillsborough and Manatee counties on the west coast, and Palm Beach County on the east coast, south to s. FL); West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and South America; paleotropics.
