Anthenantia villosa (Michaux) Palisot de Beauvois. Green Silkyscale. Phen: Sep-Oct. Hab: Longleaf pine sandhills, especially in submesic swales. Dist: Se. NC south to s. FL and west to e. TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: A. villosa is found in drier habitats than A. rufa, most typically in upland swales in the sandhills. Kral (2004) has segregated a new species, A. texana Kral, of the w. Gulf Coastal plain, previously confused with A. villosa.
