*Aralia elata (Miquel) Seemann. Common name: Japanese Angelica-tree. Phenology: Late Jul-Sep; Aug-Sep. Habitat: Suburban woodlands. Distribution: Native of Japan. Naturalizing in ne. North America at least as far south as NJ, DE, se. PA, MD, DC, and n. VA. See Moore, Glenn, & Ma (2009) for detailed information on this alien species and its naturalization in the northeastern United States.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Synonymy : = Can, FNA13, Il, K4, Mi, NE, NY, Pa, Moore, Glenn, & Ma (2009); Dimorphanthus elatus Miq.; = n/a — C, F, G, RAB, Tat. Basionym: Dimorphanthus elatus Miq. 1840
