*Ardisia crenata Sims. Common name: Coral Ardisia, Coralberry, Spiceberry, Hen’s Eyes, Marlberry, Scratchthroat. Phenology: May-Jun; Jul-Dec. Habitat: Moist suburban forests, floodplains, mesic flatwoods, moist forests. Distribution: Native of Asia. Naturalized from horticultural use in s. GA (Carter, Baker, & Morris 2009), s. AL (Barger et al. 2012), e. SC (Beaufort County) (Bradley et al. [in prep.]), FL Panhandle, and FL peninsula.
Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia
Other Comments: This species is a very serious invasive.
