Artemisia caudata Michaux. Sand Wormwood, Beach Wormwood. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Sandy woodlands, beaches and dunes, gravelly and rocky shores; also adventive in sandy fields, on roadsides, in railroad ballast, and other disturbed areas. Dist: Native south to NJ, PA, OH, IN, IL, MO, AR (?), OK, and TX. Rare at Presque Isle, nw. PA (S. Grund, pers.comm., 2021).
