Callirhoe alcaeoides (Michaux) A. Gray. Common name: Pale Poppy-mallow, Plains Winecup. Phenology: (Apr-) May-Sep (-Nov). Habitat: Calcareous prairies, glades, and other open habitats. Distribution: E. NE south through e. and OK to c. TX; disjunct and scattered eastward in IA, MO, AR, nw. LA, IL, s. IN, c. KY, c. TN, and c. AL (Dorr 1990).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy : = Ar, C, F, FNA6, G, GrPl, Il, K4, Mo3, NcTx, NS, POWO, Tn, Tx, Dorr (1990); = Callirrhoë alceoides — S, S13, orthographic variant. Basionym: Sida alcaeoides Michx. 1803
