Cardamine dissecta (Leavenworth) Al-Shehbaz. Common name: Dissected Toothwort. Phenology: Mar-Apr; Apr-May. Habitat: Rich, mesic forests. Distribution: C. OH and s. IN south through c. KY and c. and e. TN to nw. GA, c. AL, and extreme nw. MS; disjunct east of the Blue Ridge in sc. VA and c. NC.

Arkansas material previously considered part of C. dissecta (Gentry et al. 2013) is in the process of being named at species rank (Witsell, Dec. 2015, pers. comm.). Alabama plants
Other Comments: Al-Shehbaz (1988c) states that C. dissecta is easily distinguished from its relatives "by its glabrous leaves that are divided into filiform to narrowly linear segments". First reported for VA by Wieboldt et al. (1998).
