Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Material sometimes considered merely disjunct in the Ouachita Mountains of AR, or named as a variety, var. ouachitana E.B. Smith, is apparently specifically distinct and not closely related (C.T. Witsell, pers. comm., 2013).
