Carex complanata Torrey & Hooker. Section: [26ii] Section 24 Porocystis. Common name: Hirsute Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Bottomland forests and swamps, depression swamps, drier barrens. Distribution: NJ and s. PA south to n. peninsular FL and Panhandle FL, west to TX and MO; reportedly disjunct in AZ and s. Mexico.
