Habitat: Wet forests, floodplain pools, blackwater, tidal, and brownwater swamps, riverbanks, especially in or around seasonal ponded areas, maybe especially associated with alkaline areas. Distribution: VT and QC west to se. WI, south to s. FL and e. TX.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Material in FL and nearby areas is actually all a form of Carex lupulina (É. Lacroix, pers.comm. 2024).
