Carex hirtifolia Mackenzie. Section: [26nn] Section 27 Hirtifoliae. Common name: Pubescent Sedge. Phenology: Mar-Jun. Habitat: Nutrient-rich, though often rather dry, forests and woodlands. Distribution: NB west to MN, south to MD, sw. VA, c. TN, KY, MO, and e. KS.
