Carex sangamonensis (Clokey) Mohlenbrock. Common name: Midwestern Blunt Broom Sedge, Sangamon Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Bottomland forests, marshes. Distribution: Ohio, Illinois, and Kansas, south to South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. Disjunct in c. Mexico (Veracruz).

Taxonomy Comments: Judged to perhaps warrant specific rank (Tennessee Flora Committee 2015), and treated as such here.
