Carex comosa F. Boott. Section: [26qq] Section 30 Vesicariae. Common name: Bottlebrush Sedge, Bristly Sedge, Porcupine Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Tidal freshwater and oligohaline marshes, tidal and alluvial swamps, calcareous spring marshes, beaver wetlands, and ditches and other wet disturbed areas. Distribution: QC west to MN, south to s. FL, LA, se. OK (Hoagland & Buthod 2012), and ne. TX; disjunct in MIC (Villaseñor 2016); also in w. North America.
