Carex utriculata F. Boott. Section: [26qq] Section 30 Vesicariae. Beaked Sedge. Phen: Jun-Aug. Hab: Wet meadows, calcareous seeps, spring marshes. Dist: Boreal American, ranging south to DE, w. VA, nw. and sw. NC, ne. TN (Johnson County, where perhaps extirpated), IN, NE, NM, and CA. Recently verified for NC.
