Carex vestita Willdenow. Section: [26oo] Section 28 Paludosae. Velvet Sedge. Phen: Apr-May. Hab: Low forests, bogs, seepage swamps, wet clearings and depressions. Dist: S. ME south to se. VA, e. TN (where perhaps extirpated), and c. NC. See Ungberg (2022) for discussion of its occurrence in NC.

Synonymy: = C, F, FNA23, G, K1, K3, K4, NE, NY, Pa, RAB, Tn, Va, Mackenzie (1931-1935)
