Carex allegheniensis Mackenzie. Section: [26ff] Section 23c Hymenochlaenae. Allegheny Sedge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Swamps, bogs, streamhead pocosins, other moist to wet habitats, boggy pools in floodplains. Dist: Primarily from PA south to n. GA, mostly in the Appalachian Mountains; scattered reports more broadly need additional evaluation.
