Habitat: On edges of calcareous glades and barrens, in subxeric to submesic calcareous woodlands. Distribution: Known from a scattered and disjunct distribution: s. ON (alvars), s. OH and ne. KY (calcareous glades and barrens), and Montgomery Co., VA (Belden et al. 2004) and Botetourt Co., VA (Townsend, pers. comm., 2008) (calcareous glades and barrens).
