Carex turgescens Torrey. Section: [26ss] Section 32 Rostrales. Pinebarren Sedge. Phen: May-Jun. Hab: Sandhill seepage bogs, streamhead pocosins, pocosin-sandhill ecotones, canebrakes, cypress domes and stringers, in highly acidic, sandy-peaty soils. Dist: Sc. NC south to Panhandle FL, west to se. LA, a Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy : = FNA23, GW1, K1, K3, K4, RAB, S, WH3, Mackenzie (1931-1935)
