Carex superata Naczi, Reznicek, & B.A. Ford. Section: [26kkk] Section 44 Phyllostachyae. Common name: Limestone Forest Sedge. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Mesic calcareous forests and woodlands. Distribution: Sc. NC, nc. SC, sw. VA, sc. KY, and ne. MS, south to Panhandle FL and s. AL. Reported for sw. VA (as C. willdenowii var. megarrhyncha) by Wieboldt et al. (1998).
