Castilleja halophila J.R. Singhurst, J.M. Egger, J.N. Mink, & W.C. Holmes. Common name: Salt Prairie Paintbrush, Texas Seaside Paintbrush. Phenology: Jan-Apr (-early Jun). Habitat: Hypersaline and shell barrens on coastal barrier islands, parasitic on Iva. Distribution: Endemic to coastal TX (Aransas, Nueces, and San Patricio counties).
