Castilleja citrina Pennell. Common name: Yellow Paintbrush, Citron Paintbrush. Phenology: (Mar-) Apr-May. Habitat: Calcareous prairies, post oak woodlands, other rocky or sandy soils. Distribution: KS south through OK to wc. TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy : = FNA17, K4; = Castilleja purpurea (Nutt.) G.Don var. citrina (Pennell) Shinners — GrPl, NcTx, Tx. Basionym: Castilleja citrina Pennell 1921 [1922]
