Cirsium hillii (Canby) Fernald. Common name: Hill's Thistle. Phenology: Jun-Aug. Habitat: Dry prairies, glades and barrens over calcareous substrates. Distribution: ON, MI, WI, and MN south to wc. IN, c. IL, and ne. MO.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Synonymy : = C, F, K4, Mi, Oh3; = Cirsium pumilum (Nutt.) Spreng. var. hillii (Canby) Boivin — FNA19, Il, POWO. Basionym: Cnicus hillii Canby 1891
