Claytonia arkansana Yatskievych, R. Evans, & Witsell. Arkansas Spring-beauty, Ozark Spring-beauty. Phen: Late Feb-early Apr; late Mar-late Apr. Hab: Tops and faces of sandstone cliffs (Atoka and Hale formations), rooting in crevices of ledges and horizontal seams, in areas with at least seasonal seepage, in full sun to moderately dense shade. Dist: Endemic to the Ozarks and Arkansas Valley portions of Arkansas (Cleburne, Faulkner, and Van Buren counties), at 135–275 m elevation.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: This species was originally named as C. ozarkensis, but this proved to have discordant material (including the type) in its circumscription; Yatskievych, Evans, & Witsell (2013) clarified the circumscription, distribution, and nomenclature.
