Cyperus esculentus Linnaeus var. macrostachyus Boeckeler. Common name: Yellow Nutsedge, Yellow Nutgrass, Wild Chufa, Earth-almond. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Var. macrostachyus is the main variety in Central America north into s. United States.
