*Cyperus brevifolioides Thieret & Delahoussaye. Asiatic Greenhead Sedge. Hab: River sand bars, tidal marshes, tidal shores, moist soils of pastures and ditches. Dist: Apparently introduced and native of e. Asia. Its distribution in North America is still somewhat obscure (because of confusion with C. brevifolius), but it is currently known from scattered locations in NC, SC, VA, CT, PA, MD, TN, AL, GA, NJ, DE, AR, MS, and KY. Reported for SC by Hill & Horn (1997), as K. brevifolioides.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: See Bryson et al. (1996). Kyllinga gracillima Miquel (1866) appears to be the oldest valid combination in the genus Kyllinga, predating K. brevifolioides (Thieret & Delahoussaye) Tucker.

Synonymy : = C, GW1, K4, NY, Pa, RAB, W, Carter et al (2016), Goetghebeur & Van den Borre (1989); = Kyllinga brevifolioides (Thieret & Delahouss.)
