Danthonia spicata (Linnaeus) Palisot de Beauvois ex Roemer & J.A. Schultes. Common name: Poverty Oat-grass, Moonshine Grass, 'Curly Dan'. Phenology: May-Aug. Habitat: Dry woodlands, rock outcrops, shale barrens. Distribution: NL (Newfoundland) and BC south to FL and NM.
