Desmodium tortuosum (Swartz) A.P. de Candolle. Phen: Jul-Aug; Aug-Oct. Hab: Fields, woodland borders, disturbed areas. Dist: E. NC south to s. FL, west to AR and TX; Mexico, Central America, n. South America, West Indies; perhaps only introduced in the more eastern parts of the southeastern United States.
