Desmodium ×humifusum (Muhlenberg ex Bigelow) L.C. Beck. Common name: Ground-spreading Tick-trefoil. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Dry, sandy soils. Distribution: MA (NS?) south to MD and DC (and possibly VA).

Taxonomy Comments: Raveill (2002) discussed the probably hybrid origin of Desmodium humifusum (paniculatum × rotundifolium). The exact nature of its origin and whether it is better considered as a hybrid or a species of hybrid origin is unclear.
