Drosera filiformis Rafinesque var. floridana B. Rice. Common name: Florida Threadleaf Sundew. Phenology: May, Oct. Habitat: Pondshores. Distribution: FL Panhandle (Bay and Washington counties).
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: Rice, Robinson, & Fleischmann (2017) separated the FL populations as var. floridana based on their uniformly orange, orange-red, or bright purplish red leaves (vs. olive-green, olive-red, or very occasionally dark purple), shorter scapes (7.8-16.2 cm vs. 13-25 cm), shorter petioles (1-6 [-10] vs. 4-15 mm long), smaller flowers, thinner scapes, and distribution in Bay & Washington counties, FL (vs. se. NC and northward).
