Eleocharis intermedia J.A. Schultes. Matted Spikerush. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Calcareous fens and seepage areas, wet disturbed areas over calcareous rocks. Dist: NS west to MN, south to VA, TN, and IL.

ID notes: The fruiting culms are of widely different lengths, the lowermost sprawling and much shorter than the longer.
