Erigeron traversii Shinners. Common name: West Gulf Coastal Plain Fleabane. Phenology: Mar-Apr. Habitat: Longleaf pinelands and associated disturbed sandy habitats. Distribution: W. LA west to e. TX.

Taxonomy Comments: Variously considered a mere form of E. strigosus, a full species, or a variety of E. strigosus (see synonymy); needing reassessment. In parallel with the treatment of other sexual diploids in the E. strigosus complex, we here accord this taxon species rank. See Noyes, Gerling, & Vandervoort (2006) for detailed discussion.
