*Euonymus fortunei (Turczaninow) Handel-Mazzetti. Common name: Wintercreeper, Chinese Spindle-tree, Climbing Euonymus. Phenology: May-Jun; Oct-Dec. Habitat: Bottomlands, swamps, upland suburban woodlands. Distribution: Native of China.
Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia
Taxonomy Comments: There is some confusion about the appropriate taxonomic treatment about various cultivated (and escaped) forms that have been attributed to this name.
Other Comments: Sometimes climbing into the canopy.
