plant sale text: We love autumn. It is a special time, all too short, when gardening becomes fun again. It starts with the white wood asters blooming as summer wanes and continues into September with the Eastern showy aster, a coastal plain native showing off bright violet-blue flowers, up to 2 inches across. Sandy soils and open woodlands are its wild places, site yours in a bright spot with adequate drainage. Plants will spread from seed and individual clumps may be lifted and divided once they reach sufficient girth. Well worth the effort.
