*Ficaria verna Hudson ssp. verna. Common name: Lesser Celandine, Fig Buttercup. Phenology: Mar-May. Habitat: Disturbed rich forests and bottomlands, mesic suburban forests, lawns, naturalized locally from horticultural plantings. Distribution: Native of Europe. Naturalized in the US in Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia (Post et al. 2009), and certainly more widely.
