Helianthus floridanus A. Gray ex Chapman. Common name: Florida Sunflower. Phenology: Sep-Oct. Habitat: Wet pine savannas and pocosin edges. Distribution: A Southeastern Coastal Plain species: e. SC south to c. peninsular FL, and west to se LA. Populations from se. NC previously attributed to this species represent Helianthus species 2.
