Hordeum jubatum Linnaeus ssp. jubatum. Common name: Foxtail Barley, Squirreltail Barley. Phenology: May-Aug. Habitat: Roadsides, other disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of w. North America, apparently introduced in most of our our area (at least eastwards). Widespread in western North America, the eastern limit of nativity uncertain, perhaps to WI, IL, MO, AR, and TX.
