*Hypochaeris glabra Linnaeus. Section: Hypochaeris. Common name: Smooth Cat's-ear, Diente de León. Phenology: Late Mar-Jul. Habitat: Roadsides, fields, disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Mediterranean Europe, n. Africa, and Middle East.

ID notes: Hypochaeris glabra is characterized by its annual habit, somewhat coriaceous basal leaves and lack of cauline leaves, corollas equal to or slightly longer than the involucres, with tubes longer than ligules, and heteromorphic cypselae (ray cypselae beakless and disk cypselae beaked), without longitudinal grooves and a dimorphic, 2-seriate pappus (Mailhos, Bonifacino, & Marchesi 2023).
