*Laportea aestuans (Linnaeus) Chew. Common name: West Indian Wood-nettle. Habitat: Waste ground and agricultural areas (e.g. tree farms). Distribution: Pretty regular in Miami, also reported for scattered sites in the se. US (Kartesz 2022). Native of the New World tropics and subtropics.
