Lobelia cardinalis Linnaeus var. phyllostachya (Engelmann) McVaugh. Common name: Southwestern Cardinal-flower. Habitat: Creek-banks, other moist situations. Distribution: W. MO, s. NE, s. CO, s. UT and c. CA south to SON, TAB, and Honduras.
