*Ludwigia bonariensis (M. Micheli) Hara. Section: Macrocarpon. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Freshwater tidal marshes and adjacent disturbed areas. Distribution: Apparently native of tropical America. Locally abundant in disturbed edges of freshwater tidal marshes near Wilmington, NC, perhaps introduced on ship's ballast.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Other Comments: Material from Wilmington apparently has larger flowers than material of L. bonariensis elsewhere; its source and appropriate taxonomic treatment remain uncertain and need further study. First reported for SC by Leonard (1971b).

Synonymy : = Fl4, FNA10, GW2, K4, RAB, WH3, Wagner, Hoch, & Raven (2007); Jussiaea bonariensis Micheli = Jussiaea neglecta Small — S; = n/a — C. Basionym: Jussiaea bonariensis Micheli 1874
