Marshallia caespitosa Nuttall ex A.P. de Candolle var. signata Beadle & F.E. Boynton. Habitat: Limestone or chalk soils, outcrops, blackland prairies, juniper-oak woodlands, sometimes in longleaf savannas. Distribution: OK south to s. TX. This taxon has sometimes been reported for LA but is not present in that state (Kelley 2024).
