*Melinis minutiflora Palisot de Beauvois. Common name: Molasses Grass. Phenology: Oct-Jan. Habitat: Disturbed areas, pine rocklands, flatwoods, fruit groves. Introduced as a forage grass. Distribution: Native of Africa.

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa
