Vitis rotundifolia Michaux. Common name: Muscadine, Scuppernong. Phenology: May-Jun; Aug-Oct. Habitat: Dry upland forests (especially sandy or rocky), other forests, swamps, dunes, roadsides, thickets. Distribution: DE west to s. WV, KY, and MO, south to FL and TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: Cultivars of this species are popular in the Southeastern United States as table grapes and the source of a distinctive wine.
