Najas guadalupensis (Sprengel) Magnus var. guadalupensis. Common name: Common Naiad, Southern Naiad. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Lakes, rivers, impoundments. Distribution: ME to AB and WA, south to s. FL, TX, and CA, and south through Mexico, Central America, South America; West Indies.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Haynes & Hellquist (1996) and Haynes in FNA (2000) treat all infraspecific taxa of N. guadalupensis as subspecies rather than varieties.
