Panicum virgatum Linnaeus var. spissum Linder. Section: Hiantes. Common name: Tufted Switchgrass. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Gravelly or sandy fresh to brackish shores and swamps. Distribution: E. Canada south to PA, MD, DE (Kartesz 1999, 2015) and NC, SC, and GA (Sorrie 2018b).
