*Persicaria filiformis (Thunberg) Nakai. Section: Tovara. Common name: Japanese Jumpseed. Habitat: Suburban woodlands, escaping from horticultural use. Distribution: Native of e. Asia. Reported as naturalizing in Baltimore County, MD, and Arlington County, VA (Simmons et al. 2020), but probably more widespread than currently mapped.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Taxonomy Comments: This species is sold under various cultivar names ("Bat Wings", "Lance Corporal", "Painter's Palette"), often misrepresented as the native Persicaria virginiana.
